Back in 2016, opting for self-isolation was still a choice. During a late September heatwave, we packed the car full of instruments and books and headed down into deepest, darkest France. The recordings that we made here went on to form the basis of our latest release, the Suburbia EP, and also went a long way informing the way I work on recordings.
Ahead of the upcoming 'Nomads of Industrial Suburbia EP', we packed the car again and headed down into isolation, this time during a cold French winter. Of the ten tracks we demoed that month, we took five to producer Mark Aubrey at Saunton Road Studios to craft into the new EP. I can't wait for you all to hear it!
StevieRay Latham and the Nomads of Industrial Suburbia EP will be released on the 28th of May on SR24 Records.
We're so excited to announce the release of the 'NOIS EP' on May 28th.
Unfortunately, the difficult decision has been made to postpone the launch shows but in the grander context of today's world we felt that it was right thing to do. New dates will follow soon but in the meantime we can't wait for you all to hear the new EP on May 28th!
In the meantime, look after each other out there!
Back in February I was commissioned by visual artist Chris Alton to score two art films for his current exhibition 'Throughout the Fragment of Infinity That We Have Come to Know' at The NewBridge Project, Gateshead.
The scores interpret the films' key themes, including; climate change, economics, colonialism, classical mythology, and science fiction.
[Please note that unfortunately the exhibition is currently closed until further notice.]
